Is it mandatory to assign a device to the resident during the intake process?

Explanation of device assignment requirements during intake

Updated over a month ago

You don’t need to assign a device as soon as you add a new resident. Feel free to complete the resident onboarding first and onboard the device later—whenever you’re ready!

Getting Started:

  1. Go to the Residents page and click on the resident's name to open their profile.

  2. Click the “Assign Device” button.

    • You can find this button in the "Location" section on the right side of the page, or by clicking the Actions menu.

The Setup Process:

  1. Select the Pillar: Choose the appropriate Pillar or Phase for the resident. Check the confirmation box and hit “Continue”.

    • (Note: You can't go "back" during this specific step, but don't worry—you can always change a resident’s Pillar later once the device is assigned.)

  2. Add Contacts (Optional): You can enter Approved Contacts now if you have them.

    • Default Contacts: You will see a list of contacts already preloaded here (your organization's main numbers). These are locked and cannot be edited, but don't worry—they do not count toward the resident's safe contact limit.

    • If you aren't ready to add personal contacts yet, just click “Continue” to skip this—you can add them anytime later!

  3. Prepare the Device: Grab the device you are assigning.

    • Turn it on (make sure it has at least 50% battery).

    • Connect to Wi-Fi/Hotspot.

    • Move through the standard Google setup screens until a unique Onboarding Code appears on the phone screen.

  4. Enter the Code: Type that unique code into the field on your Aqua X dashboard.

  5. Finish Up: The system will take over from here! It usually takes about 5 minutes to auto-enroll and apply all the settings. Once it finishes, the device is fully ready for the resident to use.
