Resident Setup & Device Deployment

Instructions to assign devices and set pillars or phases

How do I assign a device to a resident and select a pillar/phase?

The Aqua X platform offers complete onboarding flexibility. You do not have to link a hardware unit the exact moment you build a new profile. Our Aqua X resident onboarding workflow lets you register the resident first, establish their profile, and then connect their physical hardware whenever your inventory or schedule permits.

Below are the official Aqua X device enrollment steps to get your hardware up and running.

Phase 1: How to Assign Aqua X Device to a Profile

To begin deployment, make sure you are logged into your administrative dashboard with the right provisioning permissions.

  1. Head to the Residents page from the main sidebar menu.

  2. Find the specific person from your directory and click their name to open their profile.

  3. Click the Assign Device button. If you are wondering how to assign Aqua X device profiles quickly, this action can be triggered from two convenient spots:

    • Inside the Location panel on the right side of the screen.

    • Via the Actions dropdown menu at the top of the page.

Phase 2: Choosing Pillars, Phases, and Managing Contacts

Once the setup window opens, you will set the operational rules for the device.

Change Aqua X Pillar Phase Settings

Choose the specific operational Pillar or Phase tailored to the resident’s current program or care level. Check the verification box to confirm your choice, and click Continue.

System Note: Do not use your browser's "Back" button during this active setup. If you make a mistake, don't worry—this setting is not permanent. You can easily change Aqua X pillar phase setups at any time through their profile settings once this initial setup is complete.

Manage Aqua X Dashboard Approved Contacts

Next, you can input authorized personal numbers for the resident.

  • Default System Contacts: You will notice several preloaded organizational numbers. These are locked safety configurations managed by your main administrator; you cannot edit or remove them. These default numbers do not count against the resident’s maximum safe contact limit.

  • Adding Personal Contacts: If you do not have the resident's personal contact numbers on hand, click Continue to skip this step. You can update the Aqua X dashboard approved contacts list at any time post-onboarding.

Phase 3: Hardware Preparation and Over-the-Air Setup

Before finishing the link in the dashboard, you must prepare the physical Aqua X hardware.

  1. Power and Charge Check: Unbox the hardware and turn it on. Make sure the unit has at least 50% battery life so it does not shut down during the software update.

  2. Network Setup: Connect the device to your facility’s secure Wi-Fi network or an active cellular hotspot.

  3. Get Your Onboarding Code: Click through the standard, native Google setup screens. Once the startup finishes, a unique, temporary Onboarding Code will display on the device screen.

  4. Sync with Dashboard: Return to your administrative dashboard and type the exact code displayed on the physical device into the activation field.

Phase 4: Final Automated System Sync

Click Finish. The Aqua X cloud network will take over immediately, sending down organization policies, chosen Pillar configurations, and security rules over-the-air. This automated process usually takes less than 5 minutes. Once the dashboard shows an "Active" status, the device is fully ready and safe to hand over to the resident.
