Managing digital wellness and setting healthy boundaries for device usage is easy with Aqua X. By using our main portal, administrators can create recurring curfews that instantly apply to every person assigned to a specific Pillar (our localized profile groups).
Whether you want to manage overnight screen time limits or simply restrict wifi access by time to reduce distractions, the Aqua X portal gives you total control over network and device accessibility. Use this Aqua X Pillar management guide to easily manage your resident's schedule.
Step-by-Step Setup Guide
Follow these simple steps to learn how to set device curfews and configure a new time restriction on your network:
1.Select the Target Pillar: Go to your main dashboard and open the Curfews management page on the left navigation bar. Choose the specific Pillar profile you want to change.
2.Start Creating the Curfew: Click the "Add Curfew" button in the upper right corner of the page.
3.Fill Out the Details: Fill out the required settings and scheduling fields:
Curfew Name: Give it a clear name you can easily find later (like "Weekday Bedtime" or "Morning Curfew").
Start Time & End Time: Set the exact hours for the restriction block.
Days of the Week: Select the specific days (such as Monday through Friday) you want this schedule to repeat.
Pillar Assignment: Double-check that you have selected the correct target Pillar group.
4.Save and Activate: Click the "Add" button to save the entry to your system. Next, scroll down to the curfew you just added and click on it. Click the dropdown button and select "Activate Curfew" to make it live on that Pillar.
Important System Rules to Remember
Keep these two crucial rules in mind when deploying your schedules to prevent unexpected gaps in coverage.
1. Activating Rules and Syncing Devices
Important Note: Clicking "Add Curfew" only saves the profile to your list. The rule stays Inactive by default. You must manually select Active inside the curfew settings for the schedule to turn on and run.
Additionally, your devices must have an active internet connection (either local Wi-Fi or cellular data) to download the updated curfew. If a device is offline when you turn the rule on, the curfew will not sync until the device connects to the internet again.
2. Setting Up Overnight Screen Time Limits (The Midnight Split)
The core Aqua X scheduling engine works on a standard, single-day 24-hour clock. Because of this, a single curfew entry cannot naturally cross over midnight.
The Overnight Solution: To enforce overnight screen time limits—like 8:00 PM in the evening to 8:00 AM the next morning—you must create two separate, back-to-back entries:
Entry A: 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Entry B: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
The Overlap Rule: Do not overlap adjacent time blocks on the same calendar day. For example, do not create one entry for 8:00 PM–9:00 PM and another for 9:00 PM–10:00 PM. This causes errors in the database. Instead, combine them into one single 8:00 PM–10:00 PM rule.
