How do OTA updates work on Aqua X?
All software updates for the Aqua X platform are delivered via automated Over-the-Air (OTA) deployment. This means the system sends updates directly to each active device over the internet.
This delivery system helps your IT teams. They do not need to connect hardware to local computers or handle physical cables. They also do not have to download firmware files by hand. We engineered the entire process to be seamless and secure, ensuring zero hassle for your team.
The 24-Hour Update Timeline and Automation
When we release a new Aqua X update, your devices will automatically update without any needed actions on your part.
You have a 24-hour grace period to start the installation manually from the device settings. If a user or system admin does not start the update within 24 hours, the Aqua X automation system will install it automatically.
To have a safe update and avoid losing power, each device must pass two easy safety checks before starting the update:
Power Source: The device must be plugged into a power source or have a battery level greater than 50%.
Network Stability: The device must have a stable connection to a secure Wi-Fi network or cellular data.
Preventing Downtime with Smart Scheduling
To avoid interruptions while you work, Aqua X uses smart scheduling tools.The system automatically queues Aqua X over the air software updates and applies them overnight—usually between 12:00 AM and 4:00 AM local time.
This automated approach ensures that your entire fleet of Aqua X devices stays completely synced across your organization. Every device gets the latest features, critical security patches, and performance boosts automatically. You will not need to manually track assets or involve your IT help desk.
