Aqua X Device Management: Keeping Your System Up to Date

Learn how Aqua X auto-updates work over Wi-Fi, how to manually force an update, and how to troubleshoot failed OTA installs.

Keeping your Aqua X devices updated is the best way to keep your software stable, secure, and working perfectly. Regular software updates give you critical performance fixes, patch security gaps, and add new features.

These improvements help your hardware run smoothly across your entire organization. Using the Aqua X portal device management tools, administrators can easily track and manage these updates to keep everything running at its best.

Automatic Over-the-Air Updates

Every Aqua X device uses automatic over the air updates aqua x provides through our secure cloud network. When a device connects to the internet, it downloads update files in the background. This process will not interrupt daily workflows or resident care.

If an administrator or user does not manually start a pending update within 24 hours, the Aqua X operating system will install it automatically. To ensure a smooth installation, please check that the device meets these conditions:

  • Power Source: Plug the device directly into its dedicated wall charger.

  • Battery Level: Keep the battery charge at 50% or higher if the device is unplugged.

  • Wi-Fi Connection: Connect to a stable enterprise or facility Wi-Fi network. Cellular data updates are blocked by default to save bandwidth.

Updates usually install overnight when activity is low to minimize disruptions for residents and staff. The entire process—including checking files, installing them, and restarting—takes about 20 to 25 minutes.

How to Manually Force an Aqua X Update

If a resident's device has software issues or falls behind your organization's version baseline, you can manually push an update.

  1. Check Wi-Fi: Open the Wi-Fi settings page. Make sure you are on a stable local network, not a cellular hotspot.

  2. Go to Settings: Navigate to Settings → System → System Updates.

  3. Check for Updates: Tap the blue refresh icon in the top-right corner. The device will check the Aqua X servers for the latest software.

  4. Install and Restart: If the system finds an update, tap to begin the download. Do not turn off or touch the device until it restarts and shows the home screen.

Advanced Troubleshooting & Support
