Deactivating & Resetting Phones for Re-Onboarding

Required Steps Before Deactivation or Reset

Before deactivating or resetting the device, the resident must remove their Google account and delete their screen lock passcode. This step is critical, as Android devices may require the previous resident’s Google account credentials or passcode during re-onboarding. If these are not removed, the device may become locked and unusable for the next resident.

We strongly recommend having the resident show you their passcode before removing it, in case it is needed for troubleshooting during the reset process.

If the Google account is the only account on the device, you may be prompted to enter the current PIN or password. Removing the account will delete associated data such as email, contacts, and account settings from the device.
